Become a Swimming Coach
02 Aug 2019
Learn to coach swimming.
This advert is targeted to all parents of Redditch Swimmers.
How many hours do you sit poolside watching swimmers develop? Would you like to put those hours to positive use?
Redditch Swimming Club are seeking to train and qualify Assistant Swimming Coaches.
Are you full of energy, can provide a fun environment where swimmers can enjoy achieving their goals? Are you able to positively communicate and interact with both children and parents? These are the skills you need. There is no requirement to having a swimming background or being an experienced swimmer yourself.
Training will be provided by the club where you could start by volunteering to assist a qualified coach poolside - to see if you like the role.
There is a blended learning Assistant Swimming Coach Course being held at Perdiswell in November.
The club will pay for the course on the understanding that you will, post qualification, commit to coaching at 2 sessions per week for a minimum of an 18 month period.
You would also become part of the coaching team and have the opportunity of volunteering to assist the club's Workforce Coordinator by covering ad hoc sessions when the usual coach is unavailable.
You will have the choice whether to be an unpaid volunteer (as many of our coaches are) or to be paid for the role. In either case you only cover sessions when you declare that you are available.
