Volunteers

Redditch Swimming Club has a massive group of volunteers who all help to ensure the club operates, runs smoothly and provides the best experience for our swimmers.
Volunteer roles include time keepers and officials, helping on the door at open meets and galas, coaches, poolside helpers, team managers, administrative roles and committee members.
If you can spare any time to help the club please contact us to discuss at [email protected].
Current Volunteer Requirements - J1s
One role that we are particularly looking for at the moment are 'Technical Officials - Judge 1s' known as J1s. J1s are needed at open meets, galas and competitions and whenever we enter an event as a club we need to provide a number of officials each time. So it's important we have a number of qualified volunteers so that we can provide officials when required to enable our swimmers to enter and compete. It's a voluntary role, but officials normally get provided lunch at all day events.
Becoming a J1 is the first level of qualification in Britain and includes the role and duties of being a timekeeper, chief timekeeper and inspector of turns. The qualification is delivered via e-learning which takes approx. 6-8 hours to complete and then you are required to complete a practical assessment poolside.
If you are interested in learning more and starting your qualifications by becoming a J1, please contact us at [email protected]
