SELECTIONS FOR NATIONAL JUNIOR SQUAD
Congratulations to Redditch swimmers Lizzie Kingham and Amelia Rodd on their recent selection for the Swim England National Junior Squad, an elite squad of the very best young swimmers in England - those seen as the potential stars of the future. Lizzie has been selected primarily for her performances in the 400 IM and Amelia for her open water swims.
The first online training session for the squad was completed a few days ago. Several further sessions are planned, which will also be online until it is considered safe for swimmers to return to the pool.
Lizzie will be the only selected swimmer representing a Worcestershire club, as Amelia (Ellesmere College) and a very small number of other swimmers from local clubs will be representing the various elite squads that they train with outside the county.
Huge congratulations to Redditch SC’s Jon Fletcher, crowned Participation & Community Coach of the Year at the West Midlands Regional Awards—have fun at the National Awards!
